Just like a record, our coffees of the month goes round and round. Once they're gone, they may never return.
For July 2026, the Turntable is spinning over to Papua New Guinea. Coming from the Ulya area of Jiwaka Province, this full natural coffee is grown at elevations of 1,500–1,700 meters in rich volcanic loam soil and processed by Ulya Mill. Roasted to a smooth medium profile, it delivers a deeply fruit-forward and aromatic cup with notes of blueberry, plum, spiced apple cider, rose, nutmeg, and chocolate.
Papua New Guinea is one of the most fascinating and underexplored coffee origins in the world, with a supply chain shaped by small farms, remote growing regions, and limited post-harvest infrastructure. Many producers work just a few acres of land with family support, relying on organic inputs and careful cherry picking to produce coffee of exceptional character.
This lot is supported by Monpi Coffee Exporters, a newer exporter helping more than 1,000 producers around the Waghi Valley region improve quality and gain better access to the international market. Monpi has invested in centralized milling, local warehouses, logistics, and improved drying structures, making it possible for small farmers to focus on meticulous cherry sorting while still achieving consistent quality standards.
After the cherries are purchased and transported to Monpi’s central mill near Ulya, they are floated to remove damaged and underripe seeds, then dried carefully in the sun. Monpi also provides quality control, technical farm support, and income diversification guidance for producers. The result is a beautifully expressive Papua New Guinea coffee with a story rooted in resilience, innovation, and a growing international reputation for outstanding cup quality.
Don't wait, this one won't be here for long.
